POTTERY TRAINING

Campus Bratin Dol is a unique institution and the only one of its kind in the world. It  provides its participants with training in the field of pottery, includes accomodation and organizes entertainment and tourist tours .

Because our students are very young people, we try to teach them about consuming and producing healthy food, loving nature, caring for the environment and creating real friendships through socialising and mutual work.

Our goal is to provide beginner and advanced training for young students, aged 9-13, however this is not restricted to younger or older children.

(The images below are pottery objects, found in the Bay of Bones- an archeological site inside Ohrid Lake, more than 3,500 years old. Part of our training is making replicas of these objects.)

The students have to be accompanied by an adult, one that will care for them at all times, except during the practical training.

Training is done by experts in pottery. All teachers are experienced artists, educated in arts and specialised in pottery making. Some are professors in the National Academy of Arts, and some are teachers of art in high school.

On-site training is done at the facilities of Bratin Dol Campus near Bratin Dol village. The number of students is usually between 15 and 20.

The workshop is equipped with high quality equipment as:
Slab rollers,
Extruders,
Pug mills,
Pottery wheels,
and Furnaces (kilns).
All types of tools are supplied, such as: banding wheels, bats, brushes, calipers, cleanup tools, clay cutters, loop tools, modeling tools, scales, etc.
The clay that we use is of premium quality from the Vraneshtica region, the highest quality light gray and beige clay in the Republic of Macedonia.
Painting and glazing is done with the best quality materials as well.

During the course, there are meetings organized with local art associations
(International festivals and competitions for young children artists from Europe, Asia and America); visits to pottery manufacturing in the village of Vraneshtica, near Kichevo town; meetings and introductions with local artists in their studios; visits to local art galleries and the National Museum
